Please be aware that the ABN pregnancy guidelines are slightly outdated. New guidance is currently being prepared and is expected to be released at the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. For anti-CD20 therapies, please refer to the specific guidance for each drug.

We looked at evidence around the safety in pregnancy of symptomatic medications commonly used by people living with MS. We then summarised this, and came up with some guidelines for their use. We used a Delphi technique, which involves asking a range of people for their opinions on the guidelines to try to develop recommendations that were both evidence based and made sense to clinicians and experts in the field.

We reviewed all of the available evidence around the use of anti-CD20 medications in pregnancy and breastfeeding, and developed practical guidelines for clinicians and patients. These were approved by the ABN Advisory group.
